I am currently completing my Bachelor of Psychological Science and Bachelor of Criminology at Griffith University. I am an honors student and a scholarship student. I am a part of the Golden Key Society with multiple Academic Excellence recognition. Prior to joining the legal profession, I have ample experience with various government programs for chronic mental health illnesses, substance dependency and had an extensive history of helping a large client base of trauma victims, offenders, those with disabilities, and individuals in crisis. I spent my early career as a Case Manager in Miruma Diversionary Program. My first experience in this field at 19 years of age was managing high-risk dual diagnosis offenders in Cessnock super-max Gaol. My goal was to identify and address various different areas of risk among various clients with the goal of reducing recidivism and reintegrating offenders back into the community. I progressed very quickly to become a Parole Officer in NSW Community Corrections. To which I took a keen interest in the Sex-Offender Management Programs and Domestic Violence Programs. As I excelled through various roles in the criminal justice system I resigned to accept employment overseas in Miami, USA. This was during 2020, and COVID-19 returned me back to Australia. I relocated to Queensland in the hope of restarting my career. I re-commenced my University studies with Griffith University and continued with full-time study in a double degree of Psychological Sciences and Crime/Criminology. My goal for the completion of these Bachelor's is to register as a Psychology Practitioner in Queensland, and use my Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) to develop a program specific to pre-intervention practices for people in Australia with child sexual deviance. In Queensland, I spent a period of time caring for disabled youth/elderly and case managing complex behavior. Thereafter I was headhunted by Evolve Legal to start a career as a Paralegal working specifically in the area of Historical Child Sexual Institutional Abuse. I take pride in providing an empathetic and informed approach to legal processes in the hope of making the process retributive and healing for my clients. I value a healthy work-life balance, and my studies are equally important to my career as a Paralegal. I hope to complete a Juris Doctor in the future and combine my years of practical experience with further University level studies.
