My role as a therapy dog handler and trainer provided me with the opportunity to engage with diverse clients. My role involved visiting nursing homes, hospitals, schools, workplaces, and disability centres to provide animal therapy. This role has provided me with experience in long-term rapport and collaboration with diverse clients. Working as a dog trainer has instilled patience and routine in my work ethic. I gained a deep understanding of dog psychology, learning how to assess and modify behaviour to ensure dogs are well-suited for therapy work. Within this role, I have cultivated exceptional communication and empathy, in the process of helping dogs and their owners navigate the challenges of providing emotional support in various therapeutic settings. Becoming a therapy dog trainer equipped me with a unique set of skills centred on canine behaviour and human interaction

My role involved literature review and preparations of hair and saliva samples for the mass spectrometer. I had the opportunity to be involved in investigations surrounding PTSD biomarkers and the biology of intrusive memories. This workplace experience gave me an appreciation for strict workplace health and safety protocols. I became a flexible and dynamic learner in a new environment that I was inexperienced in. My academic foundation has equipped me with a solid understanding of the principles relevant to psychological lab processes. Though this valuable experience within the lab deepened my appreciation for the scientific process, I understand the importance of integrity and precision within my work. I had the opportunity to practice active listening and learn adaptive communication skills in situations that are outside of my expertise. I had the opportunity to hone my literature review techniques in this role. With the guidance of my supervisor, I learnt effective techniques for evidence-based literature review and the importance of critical analysis. These experiences have honed my skills in critical thinking, attention to detail, and troubleshooting, ensuring that I can approach research challenges with tenacity and a meticulous approach.

Working in a corporate office engrained the importance of communication and teamwork between faculties. Working as a sales consultant equipped me with a diverse set of skills, including effective communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with clients and customers. I developed strong negotiation skills to meet sales targets and tailor the service to meet customer needs. Further, sales consultancy gave me an appreciation for high-quality work and confidence in my abilities. Strategic thinking and client rapport were large components of this employment.Working as an event supervisor for LUP Events cultivated essential skills involved in leadership and team management, as I was overseeing and coordinating diverse groups of people. In this role, I developed strong organisational abilities by handling logistics, schedules, and resources efficiently to meet event objectives. During my time with Lup Events, I honed my problem-solving skills by addressing unforeseen challenges during events, enhancing adaptability and decision-making skills.
