Leda Health Company is on a mission - to give a voice to the voiceless and to provide the care and resources needed for a full recovery. We are a company created for survivors, by survivors to quell the many systemic shortcomings surrounding sexual assault services. In the United States, 77% of sexual assaults go unreported. To us, this demonstrates a failure on the part of our governments and our national healthcare systems. Even if a survivor chooses to report, they are unlikely to be examined by a certified sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE). There are only 1,231 registered SANEs nationwide out of the 3,800,000 total registered nurses. Hospitals, then, are understaffed and unable to tend to every sexual assault survivor. Not only that, but survivors are often psychologically incapable of enduring an intrusive procedure at the hands of an individual shortly after their assault - and, as we know, DNA collection is time-sensitive. This is where Leda Health Company comes in. Our flagship product is a self-administered sexual assault examination kit aimed at restoring the autonomy and freedom of choice that survivors have. However, we are not merely a “kit company.” We are taking a holistic approach to ensure that survivors receive the proper care. This includes verification that our collection and testing services are efficient and reasonable, as well as guaranteeing survivors professional medical care and the option to participate in a supportive, helpful community of survivors and advocacy groups.
