This summer I will be serving as a Research Assistant with Penn State’s McCourtney Institute for Democracy. In this position, I will be working with Sociology Ph.D candidate Anthony Albanese, who is studying political extremism and how it intersects with populist politics, intergroup relations, and the political dimensions of religiosity. Through this position, I will be working with Albanese to listen to transcripts of interviews with individuals in order to ensure accurate data is collected. We will then work together to identify major themes from the research and interviews to better understand the origins of political extremism.

Supervised daily operations in a female-owned and run small business to ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer service. Collaborated with management to develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience. Assisted in inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies to maintain optimal levels.

During my internship, I had the privilege of working closely with dedicated lawmakers and their teams to address critical issues affecting our nation. This hands-on experience allowed me to gain invaluable insights into the legislative process, constituent services, and the impact of policymaking on communities. Through this experience, I engaged with constituents through various channels, actively listening to their concerns and providing assistance with navigating federal agencies.

Assisted businesses and firms in developing clear, data-driven strategies that align with their long-term goals and industry trends. Supported local Political Action Committee (PAC) activities, including fundraising events, conducting donor research, and preparing contribution reports. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting persuasive letters, emails, and talking points for meetings with elected officials and their staff.
