I am a professor of Spanish at my alma mater, the College of Charleston, with a Master's in Latin American Studies specializing in the educational experiences of Indigenous language speaking students. With experience teaching both young and adult students learning English, I am passionate about supporting English Language Learners and their families in their educational journey. I previously engaged this interest by working for Metro Nashville Public Schools as an Immigrant Youth Transition Specialist, and now, I teach English for adult Hispanic women in Charleston County. Ies Latin American Societies And Cultures Study Abroad
During my Junior year of college, I studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina for a semester, completing 5 courses taught by Argentina professors involving Argentine history, indigenous cultures, social issues and the Spanish language. I improved my Spanish by living with a host family, and I also traveled to San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina on a field study to interview individuals from the Mapuche communities there.
