I am a paid on call probationary member with Oregon Area Fire EMS.Some of my job duties include doing daily ambulance checks of both of our ambulances as soon as the shift starts at 0600 to ensure they are properly stocked and functioning. Other duties include responding to emergency 911 incidents and providing patient care and transport to area hospitals, operating an ambulance safely under normal and emergency driving conditions, and completing patient care reports. In our down time we clean the fire station daily and also complete a weekly cleaning task, such as cleaning the apparatus bay floors. We also do fire and EMS training if time permits.
