  I began as a hostess and food runner, which taught me a lot of skills to assist with my current position as a waitress. I started out hosting and gained lots of experience in handling social situations with happy and unhappy customers. I had to keep the restaurant organized and made sure all the servers got equal opportunities. As a food runner, I had to work quickly and always pay attention to make sure things in the kitchen ran smoothly.I worked closely with the chef in helping to expedite and get the food out efficiently. Waitressing, I have to be able to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize them to keep everyone happy. I work closely with many other employees and learned teamwork in helping each other and knowing when to delegate tasks to coworkers. I also have to be a source of information for the customers and remember facts about the menu items, small or big.
