At some point, all of us have paused to ask ourselves what it is that makes people act the way they do. As a fourth year Honours Bachelor of Science student pursuing a a Specialist in Psychology and a Minor in Biology, I am eager to find an answer to this question.I am utterly fascinated by the intricacies of the human brain, how it gives rise to thought, emotion and behaviour, and the impact of our habitual behaviours on its structure and function. I am particularly interested in learning about the ways in which brain and behaviour change throughout childhood and adolescence, as well as the neural underpinnings of maladaptive behaviour. More recently, I have uncovered an interest in exogenous modulation of activity of the brain and nervous system and the potential implication for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric illnesses.My lived experience and passion for igniting positive change have inspired me to pursue a career in clinical sciences. I am excited about opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills that I have developed through my background in peer support, psychiatric and neuroscientific research, and virtual healthcare operations to contribute to the development of safe, effective, and innovative health solutions for all.
