• Served as a graduate research assistant in cellular biology and neuroscience with two main research areas of ocular and rare CNS disease, leading to three first-author publications.• Conducted neural imaging in aniridia patients and disease models to investigate how PAX6 deficiency affects brain anatomy and plasticity using MRI, RNA and protein analyses, tissue clearing, and light-sheet microscopy. • Used PAX6 as a platform to investigate RNA regulation’s role in rare genetic disorders and how to leverage RNA regulation for therapeutic development• Pioneered new staining and imaging techniques implemented by multiple lab groups at UGA in exchange for current practices.
