I perform image capture of rate and unique materials held by the Ohio University Libraries utilizing a medium format Phase One camera and a DSLR 35 mm camera. Things I do include setting up the camera and lighting, image capture, post processing, quality control, and file management. With this position I work with a highly specialized camera designed for the digitization of cultural heritage material. This position plays a big role in preserving materials that have been given to the University or have come from the University. The images are then uploaded to the University library’s site for the public.

I work along two other head executives and our creative director to run Variant Magazine. I basically oversee all departments of the magazine. I meet three times a week, once with the head executives, another with the executive board, and then with the general body. My main jobs are to plan out the overall schedule for the magazine, pick models, pick photographers, pick final photos for the magazine, lead public relations, lead the photo team, and be at every shoot.

As the creative director I was in charge of the creative side of photoshoots and print. I would lead the photographer, make-up, hair styling, and styling to make sure we were achieving the desired aesthetic. At photoshoots I would work with each department to keep us on schedule and then help direct models with posing. When it came time for designing, I over saw the designers to make sure the magazine looked cohesive.
