I hiked 1,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail, a 2,200 mile foot trail which stretches from Georgia to Maine, with two dogs. As an AT hiker, I acquired the trail name of "Lady," as in "Lady and the Tramp." From April 2017 - October 2017 we hiked 850 miles and the states of Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, New Hampshire, and Maine. From May 2018 - August 2018 we hiked 350 miles and the states of Vermont and half of Virginia. During this time we averaged 12 mile days and my average pack weight for a five day stretch was 35 pounds with food and water. During this time I also maintained social media profiles for our hike on Facebook and Instagram, @usontheat; edited and posted Youtube videos for our second hike; and maintained a blog, usontheat.wordpress.com

Hired as a Seasonal F&B Supervisor while I was home for the winter between Appalachian Trail hikes. During this time I worked at the River Island Grilling Company at the Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, a family-friendly, table service restaurant which featured southern cuisine with an elegant twist, as well as traditional steakhouse favorites. I was responsible for pre-shift meetings, an update to sales tracking forms, the layout and functionality of our POS screens, and assisting the FOH and BOH teams to provide the best service possible.
