I am Maddie Sterling and I am from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I am a Junior at Indiana University and majoring in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management with a focus on event management. I discovered my passion for event planning growing up when I would plan and coordinate all my family vacations and events. I realized at a young age that organization was a huge skill of mine that I excelled at. This comes into play helping me coordinate and manage events. I also have worked in the receptionist and sales associate world for a while and discovered my passion for hospitality and creating a special and memorable experience and atmosphere for all different types of customers. My minor is Public Relations and this field helps me to utilize my love for making connections with people and also my love for social media. I have been a part of running multiple social media accounts for promotions of businesses and also ran my high school's instagram account my senior year which I used to promote events. I also run my own social media which multiple brands have reached out to me with my own discount count to promote to my followers. Event management and public relations come together by strategically planning and executing events that enhance a brand's image, engage target audiences, and generate positive media coverage.
