Lead an onsite training for Frito-Lay employees on how to use my program to internally report steam leaks and update repair status.

My research is focused on the development of novel, point of care technologies for diagnosing major diseases. I am currently working on a new cost-effective biosensor for cancer detection using body fluids such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, etc. Working in the wet-lab I developed skills such as surface treatment of glass substrates to specifically capture the biomarkers of interest, while also minimizing non-specific binding. Additionally, I gained comprehensive experience working with bright field and fluorescence microscopy, along with image analysis techniques.

Interviewed, selected, and lead a team of 6 fellow engineering students each year of my tenure to delegate responsibilities of designing large-scale outreach events for elementary, middle-school, and high school youth.Pitched and presented our events to UCLA Faculty and Engineering Department to successfully secure over $20,000 in funding and grants for our organization. Event highlights include: an Engineering Day for over 250 Girl Scouts, a stayover program for over 120 prospective UCLA students, and other events that gave the local Los Angeles youth community opportunities to explore STEM subjects.
