Through her career, Monica has been a tech leader who has built, led, and invested in high growth companies. Monica has been a strategy consultant, operator, and investor.Monica currently leads Growth Equity investing (including Venture) for CPP Investments, and is also the Head of the San Francisco Office. Monica joined in 2019 to launch and build an investment program in the asset class. CPP Investments is a $460B+ global investment management organization.Today Growth Equity makes direct and fund investments, across sectors, partnering with the very top tier VC/growth managers. GE is an active growth stage direct investor in legendary companies (Scale AI, Personio, Rippling, Insitro, Databricks, Netskope, Service Titan, Klarna and many others). Monica chairs the GE investment committee and also sits on the PE Department-wide investment committee.Previously, Monica was co-founder of Workplace by Facebook, a standalone enterprise SaaS business harnessing Facebook's consumer collaboration technology. During her tenure, the business grew from alpha stage to 30,000 paying enterprise customers and 3 million users. Before Facebook, Monica was at the enterprise SaaS leader Box where she pioneered programs instrumental to Box's IPO in 2015. Monica also drove growth initiatives on the New Ventures team at Starbucks Coffee Company.Monica built her foundation at McKinsey & Company, serving clients for ten years across growth strategy, go-to-market, and innovation. Monica has a BA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.In her spare time, Monica is active with her alma maters and passionate about international development - serving on the board of TechnoServe. Monica lives in the SF Bay Area with her husband and three kids.
