My focus was on the teams ability to execute scrum and basic agile practices rather that focusing on the SAFe cocktail/toolbox of lean and agile methodologies.The SAFe implementation was the chosen method for transforming to an agile approach in BEC. From my experience, SAFe will not help you deliver on the agile nor lean promise. It will impose roles and disciplined structures. Teams becomes truly excellent focusing on basic agile practices and management focusing on lean.I also have had the role of Product Owner @Insights team in BEC establishing a data driven Lean agile decision making as supplement to more classic efficiency metrics.
