Creating and implementing curriculum, partnership and outreach tools, and administrative systems to train a roster of teaching artists and identify partner sites to support growing education program for students in grades 8 - 12.

Over the course of five, half-day sessions, a cohort of up to 12 teaching artists will deeply engage in rigorous presentations by leaders in trauma-informed practice and its application in a range of artistic disciplines. Participants will be asked to complete outside reading and reflection questions and, when possible, test the strategies they are learning in real time in their classrooms.

Whole HeART Teaching demonstrates how to place the development of life skills at the center of creativity using methods that are trauma-informed, student-centered, and process-oriented. Whole HeART Teaching embodies a culture of affirmation, a learning environment built on predictability and consistency, lessons that promote student agency which are accessible to all learners, and which activate emotional literacy and self-advocacy.Each month, the Whole HeART Teaching community provides patrons access to new curated materials like lesson plans, activities, handouts and other supplementary artifacts, as well as the opportunity to submit questions for personalized answers or to participate in individual lesson plan consultations.
