As a research assistant at Appalachian State University, I monitor and record different subjects' eye movements when looking at different pieces of artwork. This experience has enhanced my research skills, information technology infrastructure, and eye tracking expertise, which are valuable for my academic and career goals in psychology.I am also a hostess at Foothills Brewing, where I adapt to a high-energy environment, greet guests quickly but kindly and personally, and communicate effectively with the wait staff. I have helped train and develop new talent, and contributed to the efficiency and sanitation of the restaurant. I enjoy working with people and providing excellent customer service, which reflects my passion for helping others through mental health struggles. I am currently a senior at ASU, pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in family and consumer sciences. I transferred to ASU with an associate's degree in arts from Davidson-Davie Community College, which I obtained while completing my high school diploma. After I graduate, I plan to attend grad school at ASU and pursue a clinical mental health counseling degree, where I hope to apply my knowledge and skills to study the brain and specialize in postpartum depression.
