About Maeve O'Connell

I am currently a senior biomedical engineering major at Fairfield University. I am also minoring in Irish studies and completed a minor in mathematics! I am currently partaking in a Senior Design Project, partnering with Avitus Orthopaedics to redesign their "DragonWing" bone graft delivery device to make it a single-handed operation. I am also conducting research with Dr. Isaac Macwan on the Synthesis of PVA and MWNT Based Electrospun Scaffold for Applications in Impedimetric Biosensors. Additionally, as VP of Fairfield's Biomedical Engineering Society, I am working on our "Trachea Project", helping create model tracheas that are put in the dummies used by Fairfield's graduate nursing students.
