As a Clinical Research Intern at Calista Therapeutics I have been actively engaged in the ongoing clinical trial. The study is focused on a subcutaneous implantable naltrexone pellet designed to address opioid and alcohol use disorders (OUD & AUD). In this role, I've played a key part in creating and maintaining crucial documentation, managing the electronic trial master file (eTMF), and adhering to GCP ICH E6 R2 guidelines for data integrity. My responsibilities also include conducting insightful market research, ensuring source data verification (SDV) and quality control (QC), and reviewing electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) data for protocol consistency. The investigational product, with its goal of providing a sustained three-month therapeutic effect after a single dose, exemplifies my dedication to advancing innovative solutions in clinical research.

Collaborating with Dr. Jessica Alber, as a research assistant in the Atlas of Retinal Imaging in Alzheimer's Study (ARIAS), I contributed to the study's objective of identifying biomarkers for Alzheimer’s Disease by utilizing both anatomical and functional retinal imaging. The aim is to enhance our understanding of disease risk and progression, ultimately paving the way for the creation of an innovative screening protocol capable of detecting Alzheimer's disease-related changes before they become clinically apparent.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Jyothi Menon's Nanotherapeutics & Biomaterials Engineering Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island, I was actively involved in cutting-edge research at the intersection of nanomedicine, drug delivery, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. My work primarily focused on developing innovative polymer-based delivery systems tailored for sustained and controlled release of therapeutic agents, particularly targeting conditions like COPD, pulmonary fibrosis as well as liver cancer. Within this dynamic environment, I successfully contributed to the development and characterization of nanoparticles through various protocols, with an emphasis on targeted drug delivery systems. Additionally, my responsibilities encompassed cell culture for uptake studies and other assays, data analysis utilizing techniques such as zeta potential screening and dynamic light scattering, and expanding my knowledge through extensive literature reviews. I had the privilege of presenting our findings at the URI College of Pharmacy undergraduate research symposium. This experience has been instrumental in developing my skills at the forefront of nanotechnology and regenerative medicine.
