Worked mainly on the development of the South Apron Extension for Dublin Airport, on both Main and Enabling Civil Works. My duties were review of documents, assistance in tender assessment, preparation of drawings for construction and assistance on contract management.Also participated on the rehabilitation of a pumped leachate pipeline has been reduced to a third of its original capacity, by having identifying the nature of the built up in the pipeline and identifying a means to restore it its original state. My duties included liaison with the client and procurement of specialists.Developed a cost analysis and comparison between a proposed Integrated Constructed Wetland and Sequencing batch reactor.

Remote To Nepal

Manavta is a non-profit organization that builds sustainable sanitation facilities at rural schools. After the big earthquake in April, Manavta focused on assisting local Nepalese NGOs dealing with the need of emergency sanitation.I was part of the research and development of an emergency sanitation guide.Besides this emergency sanitation project, I am still improving the dry toilet designs for Nepalese Schools

From Lisbon To Nepal

Research and design of dry toilet options for schools in rural Nepal. These dry toilets aim to be suitable for all students, specially adapted for both genders and thought for disabled students. The infrastructures also include rainwater harvesting and treat the waste by dehidration.

-Plan and design a sewerage masterplan for Ras 'Atya, a small Palestinian town north of the country which will be connected to an existing sewer network. -Equip an entire community with onsite wastewater treatment systems, with reuse of wastewater in agriculture. These projects were developed within the scope of the TransBasin Marie Curie research grant.

Assisted on the development of two technical guides, one for on-site dry sanitation systems design for Portuguese speaking countries and one aimed at the design of sanitation systems with septic tanks.Assisted on the review of Portuguese Legislation regarding Water and Sanitation services.Development of the baseline study for the sanitation master plan of Maputo city, Mozambique. Provided extra guidance on the development of a Master’s Thesis regarding faecal sludge management with the city of Tete (Mozambique) as a case-study.Prepared lectures for subjects related to urban sanitation.

Collaboration for the development of the water and sanitation masterplan for the islands of Fogo and Brava (Cape Verde).Basic feasibility study for:- Wastewater treatment plants (WWTP);- Faecal sludge treatment plants (FSTP); - Drainage networks.Support the development of the terms of reference for the new WWTP and FSTP in Tete, Mozambique.
