Growing up, I played bass guitar in a progressive rock band. Based on Long Island, we came up on the road being paved by the NY national acts; Taking Back Sunday, Envy On The Coast, Brand New, Permanent Me, The Sleeping, Bayside, & many more. We eventually went our separate ways after almost 10 years. Next, I produced an indie feature film in my mid 20s entitled Bridge and Tunnel (available on Roku). After making the film festival rounds & getting distribution, I decided to further my education in my main passions; music & business. I first studied sound recording & producing at IAR in NYC for a year. Then I transferred to Five Towns College to study business management where I received a bachelors degree, cum laude, completing my formal education in December of 2019.Before I graduated from Five Towns in late 2019, I discovered & subsequently managed & successfully launched the career of a fellow student, singer-songwriter Shiah Maisel. I managed him exclusively between the fall of 2019 & the fall of 2020 creating a strong foundation for his career.I have interned at a variety of great companies including: Governor’s Comedy Club, The Paramount, AGI, UAA, as well as an A&R scout remotely for 6 months with Lucky Ent. / Teamwrk Records (Masked Wolf, Will Sparks, etc.). Also after graduating, I worked as a ticket seller at Nassau Coliseum before it closed as well as many festivals & a wide variety of shows around the country with Insomniac in their HX / GC department & with On Location / FUTUREBEAT as a PA & VIP coordinator. Post Covid in 2022, I worked with UAA as an assistant between March & July. Then in July, I accepted an offer from UTA to enter their music agent trainee program which I completed & then worked as a contract admin. from August to February 2023 before shifting gears towards relocating out of NY while also exploring other fields & continuing to gain new skills.The totality of my education & work experiences over almost two decades, first as an artist in a band, then as a film producer, student, intern, employee, & entrepreneur, has given me a wide range of knowledge & real world skills in business, specifically in the music & entertainment industries, both behind the scenes & in the field. I am now based in St. Petersburg Florida & I am working with Insomniac & the Buccaneers in their box office departments along with VIP Nation & Please & Thank You as a VIP assistant as well as with Rhino Staging as a stagehand. Lastly, I obtained my FL state real estate license this past summer & launched “Torres Sells Sunshine” in August.
