Led efforts in successfully porting a media scanner and server application from an Embedded Linux environment to a Mac OS X environment.

- Design, implement and test the multimedia engine layer for next-generation set-top box products based on the Intel CE4200 (Groveland) platform in an Agile Development setup.- Focus on implementation of the core elements in the GStreamer pipeline for IP/Terrestrial video playback and recording (written in C using Glib/GObject and GStreamer frameworks).- Utilize all phases of the software development life cycle: design, implementation, testing and maintenance.- Utilized agile software development methods, automation and continuous integration.- Produce documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts. Accomplishments include:• Developed an MPEG-2 TS GStreamer demultiplexer plug-in that handles video and audio de-multiplexing, section filtering, subtitles, teletext, and full transport stream recording.• Led the design of a custom media-recording framework that conforms to the GStreamer framework standards.• Increased team efficiency by providing technical expertise and support for team members during relocation to company office in France for a period of six weeks.• Managed and implemented trick mode support (smooth and discontinuous fast-forward and reverse playback).

• Developed and tested a leading-edge Internet Radio device based on Linux that allows users to listen to thousands of global music and talk Internet stations without the need of a computer.• Designed and implemented the User Interface in addition to core middleware features including secure software update, file system navigation, activation server and weather forecast server communications.• Participated in the implementation of solutions that improved product performance, quality, processes and standards.• Participated in defining technical product requirements and created high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms. Accomplishments include:• Built a complete Graphical User Interface from scratch for the Internet Radio device, written in C++.• Implemented custom animations, text scrolling, UTF-8 support and dynamic list loading for the device’s 2.4” monochrome LCD screen.• Implemented algorithm that improved page scrolling speed by up to 50%. The algorithm utilized a method to dynamically scroll and fetch new items based on prediction of user actions.• Proactively participated in online customer questions and discussions via forums in relation to the Internet Radio device.• Filed a patent application related to utilizing Internet radio station metadata for providing navigation/skip feature within long Internet Radio recordings.

• Served as an active member of the Automated Test Framework team, practicing Agile Development methodologies and the Scrum process.• Designed and developed the Automated Test Framework for automatic remote execution of tests on Linux-based mobile phones for core multimedia features including image capture, video capture, and video playback.

• Served as an Image processing and software solutions expert for the BabyTalk Research Lab. Successfully implemented a software solution for automating the extraction of lab test results from a video recording of eye-tracking data.• Solution was implemented by using Character and Pattern Recognition techniques using the MATLAB Image Processing Toolbox and Perl.

Research Internship with NASA.Worked on analysis of eye images for purpose of eye tracking detection.
