My DPhil in Classical Archaeology at Wolfson College, Oxford, studied the the built structure and social dynamics of Macedonian cities from the death of Alexander the Great to the Roman Conquest of Greece. This work was generously supported by substantial university and nationally competitive grants. My academic interests range widely in the societies, economies, urbanisation, and thought of the Hellenistic World, from Italy to the Indus Valley.At Oxford, I taught a broad range of subjects focused in the Archaeology of the Iron Age Mediterranean, Classical and Hellenistic History, and the Ancient Greek and Latin Languages. I worked as an Outreach Assistant, regularly participated in undergraduate interviews, taught Classics in schools, led Ashmolean museum tours, worked as an Academic Editor for the Faculty of Classics website, and copy-edited Faculty scholarship. I served as the President of Graduate Archaeology in Oxford (representing student interests to Faculty Committees) and was a representative to the Committee for Library Provision. Finally, I helped lead a bi-weekly seminar series, convinced the Faculty to increase its budget, and attract top-flight speakers from around the World.My archaeological field experience in Greece and Italy is extensive, particularly on questions central to my research: understanding the public centres of Ancient cities and the significance of site locations in social and economic networks. I have a passion for giving back to communities where I research and work, and have partnered with financiers, business leaders, and government agencies to promote cross-cultural understanding through historical education in the Balkans. From 2017-2022, I help resuscitate the Latin program and taught large sections of Classical Myth at the University of North Texas. I also developed and taught an Introduction to Classical Archaeology. In 2021 I joined the University of Texas at Arlington, where I once again teach a wide range of subjects including Latin, Myth, Introduction to Archaeology, various classes in Old World Archaeology (Rise of Civ, Ancient Near East, Prehistoric Aegean and Ancient Greece), Art of Antiquity, and special topics in Greco-Roman Art. I also serve as Director of Classical Studies and President of the DFW Society of the Archaeological Institute of America, one of the most active chapters in the country.
