About Magda Robalo

An infectious disease, public health physician. Championing equitable access to quality health care. Passionate about gender equity. Interested in international affairs, global politics of development and human prosperity. After a 20 years’ long career with the United Nations (WHO), joined Government as Minister of Health and coordinated the COVID-19 response as High Commissioner for COVID-19. As Global Managing Director for Women in Global Health, she worked to advance women in global health leadership. As President and co-founder of Institute of Global Health and Development, she aims to contribute to gender equality and create economic opportunities for women and girls, improve governance and sustainable financing for quality and equitable health services. A citizen of the world, she is a fine diplomat, mother of three and a seasoned interior designer.
