My current research is directed toward realizing an ultra-high-capacity, single-hop, contiguous switching/routing system, employing fast optical distributors or electronic distributors, for application in data centers and cloud services. The objective is a system scalable to a global spatial coverage and a throughput of multiple Exabits/second. Other areas of interest include: panoramic-video encoding;optimal selection of encoding parameters for specified objectives;live transcoding of concurrent high-speed video streams;advanced interactive video streaming;self-configuring narrow-beam flexible wireless networks;acoustic-noise cancellation and hearing-protection systems; andoptimal algorithms for analysis of massive social-network data.
