Maged Taha was appointed Area Information Technology Manager, Middle East & Africa for InterContinental Hotels Group in January 2000.Maged oversaw the company’s information technology operations for the Continent including seven hotel brands, comprising of 75+ managed Hotels.Maged managed a team of 13 Regional leaders located in various countries, of which several team members were direct reports for most of the 60+ IT field Associates operating at individual business units. Maged played an integral role in its rapid growth through the opening of more than 25 hotels in 10+ countries whilst navigating through the Financial Crisis, cost reduction, and Corporate Office reorganizations; each of which posed various business and IT challenges. Maged held accountability for all IT project management of new build Hotels and On/above Property Systems replacements/installations. Maged led the development of many Hotel Owner and IT operations programs and materials that continue to be the baseline for IT construction and operations processes.
