At CK, I developed and directed projects that involved full site characterization (hydrogeology, delineation and stability of affected media), development of a site conceptual model, and evaluation of potential remedial options based on a thorough assessment of potential pathways and risks. I regularly communicated and collaborated as a client advocate with regulators and landowners to develop effective strategies for site closure under the jurisdiction of the RRC Operator Cleanup Program and the TCEQ Voluntary Cleanup Program.My field work included soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater sampling,lithology classification, aquifer characterization (slug and pump testing), receptor surveys, and well installation. I was responsible for mapping (ArcMap and AutoCAD), Phase I and Phase II Site Assessments, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.

Thesis titled “Sediment Pore Water Dissolved Organic Matter in North Dakota (USA) Prairie Wetlands” under the supervision of Dr. Yu-Ping Chin.Primary duties included the characterization of dissolved organic matter in natural waters using total organic carbon (TOC) analysis, UV/Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and HPLC. I planned and executed multiple remote field site excursions to North Dakota to collect and process sediment cores and surface water samples. I conducted routine maintenance on TOC and spectroscopic instruments and mentored undergraduate students on individual research projects, use of laboratory instruments, and standard laboratory practices.
