Within this position, I cared for special needs adolescents in a home health setting and provided assistance in areas of hygiene, toileting, ADL’s, housekeeping, cooking, and transportation.

This summer camp is for children with type one diabetes, therefore, my role as a day counselor involved frequent blood sugar monitoring, diabetes management, and ensuring the overall safety of the children throughout basketball drills and tournament games.

I provided in-home care services to an elderly couple, aiding with personal hygiene, toileting, ADL’s, cooking, cleaning, and social interactions.

As the Unit Secretary of this skilled nursing facility, I aided in scheduling outpatient follow up appointments, as well as transportation to and from these appointments. I gained experience in communication, medical terminology, billing, and documentation.

Within this role I cared for three children, one of which had type one diabetes. My duties consisted of cooking, cleaning, playing with the children, and transporting them to summer activities. In addition to these tasks, I was responsible for diabetes management including carbohydrate counting, insulin dose calculations via injections or through insulin pump, and treatment of high or low blood sugars.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant I was responsible for obtaining patient vital signs, aiding in toileting, hygiene, ADL’s, and mobility assistance. In this position, I assisted the floor nurses in nursing cares and communicated effectively to ensure continuity of care throughout the shift.
