Being Head Lifeguard requires being able to adapt and act quickly to problems that arise at the pool as well as with my staff. I was in charge of recruiting and hiring a reliable staff for the pool season. This looked like reaching out and setting up interviews with potential new lifeguards.Much of my work was done pre-season. This included making sure the lifeguards were certified or up to date with their certifications. If they were not helping them get into these courses to get certified. I also had to make sure I was up to date with all of their other information (Drivers Licenses, direct deposit sheets, and contact information). As well as making the schedule for the summer. Making the schedule required the guards to fill out their availability, and for me to fill in the schedule with their responses.During the season itself, I always made sure I was available for my lifeguards, even if I was not physically at the pool. When I was actively at the pool I would make sure all my staff was correctly following the rotation. I was also ensuring that the pool deck was safe as well as the members. Another requirement for being Head Lifeguard was making sure the chemical levels of the pool were at the correct level, and if they weren't it was my job to correct them. I managed the chlorine and PH levels of the pool as well as always keeping it clean.

I worked as a lifeguard before I got the promotion of Head Lifeguard. Being a lifeguard requires being able to constantly make sure your zone of the pool is safe. This position requires the ability to detect if something looks off, and respond accordingly. It also requires being able to blow your whistle and apply the pool rules to everyone. Aside from just lifeguarding this position required me to keep the deck of the pool always clean. This was by taking out the trash, picking up after the members, cleaning the tiles in the pool, vacuuming the pool, and going through the opening and closing checklist.

Working as a Daycare Assistant meant being able to help the full time workers in whatever ways I could. That usually looked like: changing diapers, giving bottles, helping with snack time, cleaning up after the children's activities, playing with the children. I worked with children ages 4 months to 4 years old. I would also help with getting the children ready to be picked up from daycare.
