Maggie started dancing at the age of 4, where she extensively studied ballet for the next 7 years. She has danced in numerous performances of “The Nutcracker” and “Cinderella” with the Chicago Festival Ballet and Salt Creek Ballet. Since then, her training has included contemporary, jazz, lyrical, character, and musical theater at studios in the chicago land area including Lou Conte Dance Studio and Ruth Page Center for the Arts. At the age of 15, she was honored to win the first-annual “Camper's Choreography Review”, directed by Kate Jablonski, for her self-choreographed solo. In 2014, she performed at the Inaside’s Choreographic Sponsorship Event as a company member of “DiPr” under direction of Dionna Pridgeon; and in 2015 and 2016, Maggie performed in Chicago numerous times with The Kate Jablonski Statement. The summer of 2016, Maggie was accepted into the first ever SoulEscape Company Intensive during which she trained under Justin Giles and Rose Yager for 5 weeks and had the opportunity to be a mentor during the SoulEscape Summer Event. In 2017, she was invited to come back for the Company Intensive and perform multiple times in Texas and Los Angeles as a company member in “Philosophizeyourfigure ” featuring Justin Giles’ original work “11, A MILLION” as well as a contributing work choreographed by Alan Salazar. The following year in 2018, she returned to train and perform with SoulEscape in Justin Giles’ new work “In Passing” along with a contributing work choreographed by Seth Zibalese. Since 2017 Maggie has been teaching at Expression Dance Studio and is currently the head of their ballet program for the company and recreational dancers; as well as a choreographer for their competing companies. Maggie’s aim as a choreographer is to create a special connection between music and dance by translating a song into meaningful and expressive movement.In addition to dance, Maggie found her love for yoga and has completed her power yoga intensive training through CorePower Yoga in December of 2014. The year after she went back into training and has completed her 200 hour RYT training with NEXT yoga.
