Hi! My name is Maggie and I recently graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, concentrating on ecology and field biology, and a minor in Political Science. I am currently employed with an environmental consulting company, and I am passionate about environmental education, sustainability, and leadership in the outdoors. Throughout my time at RIT, I focused on hands-on learning experiences through research opportunities. I participated in RIT’s Wetlands summer research experience for undergraduates (REU) as well as research in and outside of the classroom. I also gained many leadership skills in college, working on the executive board of several clubs in the College of Science (COS). In May 2024, I represented COS during graduation ceremonies as the COS Undergraduate Delegate. I have been able to put my leadership skills to use in many job positions. At RIT I was a teaching assistant/learning assistant for multiple semesters, and I recently worked on a directing team at a DEC Summer Camp (Pack Forest). Previously, I worked as a conservation educator at DEC Camp DeBruce. I am proud of my experiences abroad, where I have gained many life skills in addition to my environmental education. My last semester of college, I traveled to Australia with the School for Field Studies, participating in the program “Rainforest to Reef.” I conducted research on biocultural significance trees at the Centre for Rainforest Studies campus, and presented it to the community of the Atherton Tablelands.
