During the first year of the graduate program, I assisted two departmental faculty in teaching mega sections of FLS 101. We also tutored weekly (up to level 201) and held office hours. In the first semester of my second year of graduate school, I was the instructor on record of two FLS 102 classes. Currently, I am the sole graduate student teaching 2 sections of an accelerated Spanish class of levels 101 and 102 combined. I maintain office hours, complete grading, and provide support for my students. On top of that, I have graded and assisted professors as an extra TA in online, asynchronous courses (beginner level and advanced level).

I am working at the international school of Charlottesville as a substitute teacher. The school focuses on toddler - kindergarten language immersion. Students choose French or Spanish! I speak Spanish to the children every day through teaching and experiential activities!

Through this program, I participated in a home stay and traveled to a public school where I worked for 40 hours/week, plus extracurricular and planning, alongside a head teacher. The importance of teaching pragmatic English in another country is seen through the children as they learn. We initiate English only immersive classrooms to help vulnerable students learn to communicate in another language.
