I'm a TPA (Third Party Administrator)… but what is that?! Google will tell you one thing, but it's really hard to nail down what my role as a TPA actually is. Some days I'm a plan document translator, other days I'm a compliance testing maniac, and occasionally I’m a member of the pension police. While my responsibilities may change based on the day, I hope that every day I am someone that my colleagues feel confident calling to problem solve and alleviate any administrative burdens that they might be facing related to their employer-sponsored retirement plan. Before working at Sentinel, I was an auditor, and before that, I was involved with benefits. Although the responsibilities of each job were very different, the commitment to providing exceptional service has been the same for all. My job pairs well with my passion for numbers and love for people. Mix that with a belief in the importance of being prepared and properly planning to ensure your family is financially sound, and you have my reason to get out of bed every morning and come to work! The IRS regulations are complex and constantly changing and the DOL has a lot of rules as well. These factors make my job challenging, but in a good way! I’m thankful to have a job that allows me to develop and gain knowledge in so many areas all at one time. The friendships built along the way are great too!
