Employee Relations Specialist
In my role as an Employee Relations Assistant (Information System Contact), I supported over 5,000 US employees, and acted as the first point of contact for over 800 Corporate IS Employees, working with both entry-level employees and executives.My role required that I have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a large volume of confidential information, while prioritizing multiple on-going projects. Primary functions of this role include: -Act as the primary contact for all IS managers and employees for Human Resources related questions -Assist with general benefit, policy and compliance related questions -Manage the onboarding process from the point of submitting the background check, to conducting new employee orientations-Conduct weekly and monthly employee reports to track employee data changes-New Hire data entry for all of Expeditors US employees and overseas transfers-Leave of absence processing, including reviewing medical certifications and fitness for duty determinations. In addition I set up individual meetings to go over the Leave process with employees-Manage the ergonomic process under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-Complete benefit enrollment for all Expeditors employees, including new hires, and employees who have experienced a significant life event or special enrollment event. This requires an understanding of both our enrollment system and plan administration rules-Timecard management and support for all IS employees -Provide support to all other Human Resource functions as needed
Internship- Organizational Development
I engaged in Organizational Development projects such as writing several articles to be published in the company weekly newsletter which promoted the Learning Center, a learning resource available to employees. I also researched the 360-degree survey and performance management processes, evaluating the pros and cons in a written report. Additionally, I created a Conversation Guide for employees to use when they are out in the community at various events, such as career fairs. The objective of this internships was to increase my familiarity with the many different components of Organizational Development, and meet influential individuals within the Organizational Development community.
Internship- Human Resources Analyst
As an intern at Puget Sound Energy (PSE) I reported to the Human Resources Director, helping with many different tasks in support of the Human Resources team. Some of my projects included supporting the company Leadership Conference, gathering and compiling meeting data for executive review. I also helped with the Employee Recognition Program, documenting and sending employee awards, as well as looking at the efficiency of the programs. I helped with the organization of I-9 and personnel filing and shredding, and worked on creating an Administrative Specialist task binder. As part of the internship I had the opportunity to observe and interview many PSE Human Resources employees, such as the Workforce Planning team, which included Recruiters and Staffing Specialists.

Using Microsoft Publisher, I helped to recreate the Montana GEAR UP ("Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs") College Toolkit. The Toolkit was distributed to students throughout Montana's schools, with a focus on first generation college students. The Toolkit guides students through the college selection process.

Projects included grant writing, Montana Governor's Office history project, as well as organizing and documenting Montana's volunteers.
