-Serve as federal project manager of a new, Inflation Reduction Act-funded "Center for Heat Resilient Communities" out of UCLA to advance extreme heat governance and programs across the country. This includes managing the cooperative agreement and coordinating programs and partners.-Work with research and practitioner communities on social science questions important to heat and health communities, including co-leading an Extreme Heat Social Science Community of Practice for NOAA and collaborating with an interdisciplinary research community and relevant communities of practice to understand research needs and develop research agendas.-Coordinate heat equity pilot projects, such as assisting with participatory tabletop exercises across the country, publishing a Maturity Model for Heat Governance and other guides, and creating case studies with local government officials to better understand different cities' resilience capacity towards extreme heat.-As a subject-matter expert, work across partnerships at the local, state, Tribal, Federal, and international levels, to promote the transfer of knowledge and products from research to heat-related decision making.-Build educational content on heat.gov and work to better connect informal and formal educators to extreme heat-related resources -Work in the broader One Health field as needed, such as providing subject matter expertise in the fields of marine policy and youth engagement-Serve on part-time detail with assistant secretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere and deputy director of NOAA, Jainey Bavishi, at building equitable grantmaking throughout NOAA. Also continue to co-lead a DEIJ in Equitable Grantmaking working group.

~Contractor from 2018-2022, Federal employee starting in October 2022~ -Served as a Federal Program Officer for Environmental Literacy Program grants and Congressionally-mandated earmarks. From mitigating heat illness through public health education to empowering youth in New York City to help their city adapt to climate change, these grantees engage their communities to take action to build equitable and sustainable resilience. -Served as competition manager for three bi-annual competitions, organizing the process from beginning to end, including communicating with applicants, drafting the notice of funding opportunity, managing the internal team's timelines and tasks, coordinating multiple review panels, selecting applications, and processing awards-Helped coordinate the ELP community of practice, maintaining an active list-serv, assisting with site visits across the country, and sharing NOAA resources and information-Facilitated and coordinated a "DEIJ in Grantmaking" working group across NOAA.-Coordinated the Coastal Ecosystem Learning Centers Network, a consortium of 25 aquariums across North America. Facilitated meetings and workshops, implemented and evaluated activities, coordinated a climate resilience working group, co-led an aquaculture literacy initiative, produced and hosted a podcast called "NOAA & the Octonauts", and generally worked to build capacity amongst the members.-Helped plan and execute the logistics of 3 Science on a Sphere Users Workshops, where educators and scientists across the world gathered to learn from others on how to better communicate science educational messages on NOAA's global spherical display system.-Serve as main communications point of contact for the ELP and CELC programs, writing and editing web stories, updating the webpages, and managing the CELC Facebook page.

-Qualitative, primary data collection and analysis for the Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery Social Study to understand the social changes in the fishery and the surrounding community as a result of the transition to the catch share management system. Data and the results were disseminated and reported to the Pacific Fishery Management Council and the NOAA West Coast Regional Office.-Data management for the Communities by Species/Gear Project. -Conducted oral histories with scientists at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center to preserve knowledge of scientific management changes and promote outreach of the centers' research

Collaborating with SMEA, WA Sea Grant, and NOAA's NW Fisheries Science Center, I developed social indicators for measuring human wellbeing (SWIMM) in Washington State Coastal communities. My tasks included conducting a literature review, defining and assessing the "resource access" attribute, and organizing a 4-day workshop meeting for experts in the field. Measuring social and cultural attributes ultimately assisted with ocean and coastal management and decision-making.I presented my work with the SWIMM team at the International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB) in Montpellier, France in August 2015.

I helped produce and write the website video for CCAMLR, so that visitors to the site may better understand what the organization does. My tasks included coordinating and conducting interviews, creating a story outline, researching archival footage, other websites, and CCAMLR's history, and assisting the filmmaker.

-Recruited and trained interns to work for the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve (SNERR). -Developed programs for community college and high school students in the local community that were interested in professions in natural resources, benefiting both their careers and the estuary. -Applied for grants to fund internships-Assisted with education and scientific expeditions

For two summers, I coordinated and taught coral reef ecology for Coral Camp. I assisted and led lectures, activities, and field trips, including snorkel trips to the coral reef. In addition, I helped maintain the efficiency of the environmental center, assisting with fundraising and outreach events.
