A 20+ year passion for classical music has led Maggie to a vibrant and diverse career in broadcasting and arts management as Assistant Station Manager at Classical KING FM in Seattle and currently, Music Director of WQXR in New York City.At KING FM, Maggie's primary focus was Second Inversion, a 24/7 streaming online channel, website, and community resource for contemporary classical, experimental, and cross-genre music. Maggie co-founded the project in 2014 to cultivate and connect the next generation of music listeners and to become the hub of new music in Seattle beyond. Maggie managed the content production team and curated all content across platforms, including but not limited to weekly album reviews, in-studio video productions, live concert broadcasts, curated music showcases at Folklife and the Tractor Tavern and monthly new music happy hour meet-ups to engage with like-minded people and organizations in the community.Maggie took a hiatus from radio and joined the Jensen Artists team as Publicity Manager in July 2017 and was devoted to promoting performers, composers, and conductors in the classical music field, many of whom are dedicated to contemporary classical music. She drafted and distributed press releases, updated artists bios, developed and pitched stories for CD releases, concerts, and other projects, brainstormed and carried out creative publicity initiatives, and attended artists’ performances in the New York area.While in Seattle, Maggie maintained an active performance schedule, having played regularly with the Seattle Rock Orchestra and the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra. Outside of the office and rehearsal hall, Maggie loves to cook, rock climb, run, bike, and knit.
