Queen Elizabeth Court Aylesford

I started my career at RBLI as Deputy Manager Gavin Astor House High Dependency Nursing Home assisting the manager in the running of this 50 bedded home. I have had 2 tours of duty at Gavin Astor and am currently on my second tour of duty at Queen Elizabeth Court. Queen Elizabeth Court is a purpose built Assisted Living Scheme comprising 40 self contained flats. The criteria to live at Queen Elizabeth Court is that applicants have a service connection, are over 55 years and require a minimum of 30 minutes a day personal care and support. Queen Elizabeth Court has its own in house care agency that can develop bespoke care packages tailored to maximise peoples independence. The RBLI Domiciliary Care Agency also delivers care packages and social support to RBLI beneficiaries living within the Royal British Legion Village.

During my time in the NHS I completed my Diploma in Health Education and Professional Practice, I also qualified as an Orthopaedic Nurse. I took a break from the NHS for approx 18 months when I worked as a house manager to support people with a learning disability to live in the community.
