About Maggie Bennett
I am currently working as an Infection Preventionist at Shore Medical Center. Previously I was working as a Research Scientist at the New Jersey Department of Health. April 2021, I graduated from The Mailman School of Public Health, at Columbia University, pursuing my MPH studying Epidemiology with a certificate in molecular epidemiology. During my time at Columbia, I was the president of the Trauma-Free NYC Student Advocate Group as well as a research assistant at the Department of Psychiatry researching how maternal immune activation affects cognitive development of infants. I have a BS in Public Health and a minor in Nutrition and Foods from Appalachian State University. My research interests are in childhood trauma, specifically, addressing associations of childhood trauma on adulthood as well as the effect that parents who have experienced trauma have on adolescents.
