Dr. Maggie Biberstein is a licensed psychologist at the Bert Nash Center Community Mental Health Center in Lawrence, Kansas. Dr. Maggie believes that every child deserves to feel heard, understood, and as if they matter. She strives to help and support children, adolescents, and their families to move toward positive, long-lasting change. Dr. Maggie has had experience working with children and families in private practice and community mental health settings. Across these settings, she has emphasized genuine connection and person-centered care. Dr. Maggie utilizes play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and interpersonal process therapy approaches in her therapeutic work. She has incorporated her background in psychological evaluation into each position she has held, including recent experience assessing for autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Maggie loves opportunities to express her creativity, such as decorating her home and writing short stories for her nieces and nephews. She enjoys being physically active and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. Her favorite at-home activity is cuddling with her kitties, Sarabi and Walt.
