As a lifelong lover of all things freshwater, I have geared my education and career towards conserving these imperilled systems. My passion for snorkelling evolved into a career conserving Canada's endangered freshwater fishes. I completed my Bachelor of Science (with Honours) at Trent University with a Specialization in Conservation, my thesis focused on using environmental DNA (eDNA) to map the current distribution of the federally listed threatened species Spotted Gar. I also completed my Masters of Science at Trent University, my thesis project focused on assessing the reintroduced lake sturgeon population using genetic tools, telemetry analysis and demographic analysis. I currently work as a Species at Risk Biologist at Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
