About Maggie Fox
I completed my Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering in the summer of 2023. My thesis was centered around optimizing the manufacturing and design of non planar and solid-state Li-ion batteries. Outside of the lab, I was involved in sustainability work through the NSF INFEWs program. During my career thus far, some of the work I am most proud of has been in advocacy for women and historically excluded groups in STEM through the summit I founded “Women in STEM: Breaking Barriers” and with the Society of Women Engineers. Previously, I was an Associate Editor at Nature Communications on the Energy Materials team. Recently, I joined Cell Press as a Scientific Editor at Joule and am excited to see where my career takes me at this organization!
