Environmental Emissions Monitoring System (EEMS); the environmental database of the UK oil and gas industry, providing measured and calculated data relating to emissions from offshore and onshore installations. My role was to successfully develop and manage the EEMS database on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and Oil & Gas UK from its inception through to redevelopment as a self-service web-based system now managed by Collabro. This involved developing complex technical software requiring critical accuracy to support statutory compliance and reporting:- Managed both the database and data ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information- Liaised with Operators’ Environmental Managers to verify complete and accurate submission of statutory data and monitor compliance with data submission deadlines- Provided summary and detail reporting for use in Government and Industry statistics- Extended EEMS functionality as specified by the EEMS Governance Board - Converted the system from DOS to Windows ensuring Y2K compliance - Designed interfaces between Oracle and Microsoft Excel to load, validate and report on data electronically thereby ensuring data accuracy and leveraging Operators’ existing investment- Seconded to Oracle UK development team for EEMS redevelopment using web-based technology and xml- Developed and delivered training program for users across the UK during transition to current EEMS managing organization; Collabro.
