As Senior VP of Advocacy I lead our advocacy and governmental relations of a robust regional network spanning central Appalachia. Working with a diverse team, & 50+ nonprofit organizations, we inform National, Regional, State and Local policy and funding focused on housing and community development. The creation and initial funding ($20 million) of the Rural Housing Trust Fund for KY. A dedicated funding stream to support flood mitigation & rebuilding in eastern Kentucky.

As the President and CEO of the DC Alliance of Youth Advocates, I lead a dynamic team of policy experts and youth advocates in facilitating a robust network of informed and mobilized youth, parents, direct service providers, community based organizations and other civil society partners. Through strategic communication, robust outreach, and exceptional research and analysis, we inform and influence lasting systemic change that improves outcomes for all youth in the District of Columbia.

Responsible for: Policy research and analysis; Convening and coordinating representatives from the community, civil society and government to align policy objectives and programming related to disconnected and/or homeless youth.

Researched a range of multi-national negotiations starting in the 1930's that have influenced the current global economic system for Professor Drezner's book, Avoiding Trivia, published in 2009.

A leading community based organization providing over 35 years of direct social services to Boston families and youth. Participated in a statewide action committee convened to provide data driven, prescriptive recommendations on education policy within the Massachusetts child welfare system to enhance coordination between state welfare agencies and public school systems; Acted as a liaison between the Department of Public Schools and Department of Social Services facilitating compliance with state and federal education policies for over 80 children in the custody of the state; Designed and presented training and conferences for social service offices, therapeutic treatment providers and partner agencies.

Successfully oversaw the program design, development, implementation and management of a co-ed independent living program mandated to transition foster care youth out of state care and custody. In the first eighteen months the number of youth served had increased by fifty percent and was operating with an annual budget in excess of a half million dollars, achieving fiscal sustainability; A member of the Executive Team; provided supervision of multiple case managers and up to 10 volunteers, also oversaw the design and presentation of staff training and professional development workshops; Responsible for maintaining contact with key community and funding stakeholders and ensuring compliance with state funding regulations, community health and safety standards and private landlord requirements.
