I am dedicated to driving effective communication and change management strategies at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO). I collaborate with more than 40 project managers to lead system and operational transitions for Colorado's Medicaid Enterprise Solutions (CMES) ecosystem, a multi-million dollar portfolio encompassing vendor transitions, new system design and development, and IT system modularization. I work closely with multiple executive leaders at HCPF to craft comprehensive communication strategies. Key responsibilities and contributions include:🞄 Advising senior executives and addressing emerging communication needs, including during the COVID-19 public health emergency.🞄 Leading communication strategies for health system implementations, in close partnership with leadership.🞄 Managing crisis communication efforts.🞄 Serving on the Organizational Change Management (OCM) and Lessons Learned committees.🞄 Providing copywriting, editing, meeting facilitation, and vendor deliverable reviews.

In June 2019, DaVita Medical Group joined the OptumCare family.As the communication lead for the Compliance department at Optum, I collaborated with the Chief Client Officer (CCO) to enhance corporate and legal compliance communications for providers and medical staff across five regions: Washington, California, New Mexico, Colorado, and Florida. In a brief yet impactful period, I implemented several new communication channels, including quarterly webinars and monthly email updates from the CCO.Key responsibilities and contributions included:🞄 Developing and launching effective communication strategies to improve compliance understanding and adherence.🞄 Implementing new channels for disseminating compliance information, such as webinars and email messages.🞄 Ensuring all employees completed annual compliance training through broad and targeted communications.My work at Optum strengthened compliance communication and fostered a culture of continuous education and adherence to legal standards.

I began my tenure at HCPF as the organization’s brand manager, spearheading the renaming of Colorado Medicaid to Health First Colorado. This role involved implementing comprehensive training programs, creating branding resources, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with new branding standards. I worked with the executive team to create a proactive communication strategy for HCPF which incorporated all of the initiatives important to their Offices. I also crafted and executed a communication strategy for the executive director.Key responsibilities and contributions included:🞄 Leading the communication strategy for the "COMMIT" project, which transitioned Colorado to a new claims management system, pharmacy benefit management system, and data warehouse—impacting approximately 40,000 providers statewide.🞄 Developing staff support resources, creating dashboards for senior team members, and coordinating with vendor staff to address issues escalated by media, legislators, and the Governor’s office.🞄 After 1.5 years, being promoted to Communication Strategist, where I implemented the first-ever proactive communication plan for the organization.🞄 Collaborating closely with executive team members and their direct reports to develop and manage the executive director’s communication and outreach strategy.My efforts at HCPF significantly enhanced the organization's brand and communication capabilities, ensuring successful transitions and fostering proactive communication practices.
