I was part of a molecular neurobiology team, led by Rudolph Spangler, PhD, focused on developing and using one of the first quantitative assays for measuring mRNA expression in mouse, rat and human brain. Although not a PhD student, I independently ran preclinical studies and performed subsequent quantitative mRNA analyses for key dopaminergic and opioid system receptors. I was "first-author" on 2 publications and listed as co-author on multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications. I also participated in clinical trials for putative therapeutics, drawing blood samples from human subjects and running biomarker analyses.
