Holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003) with a Cum Laude title of academic dignity and a Master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation-FIOCRUZ (2005). Doctorate at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics - Technische Universität Dresden (2009) in the International Max Planck Research School for Cell, Developmental and Systems Biology program under the supervision of Dr. Andrej Shevchenko with Title of academic dignity Dr. rer. nat. Magna Cum Laude. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute - MPI-CBG (2009-2010) and the Department of Biochemistry, IQ, UFRJ (2010-2011). In addition, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Biotechnology Center of the Technische Universität Dresden, BIOTEC, Germany (2012) and Institute Curie, Paris, France (2023). The research activity focuses on applying techniques for identifying and quantifying biomolecules by mass spectrometry used in the study of biological systems, exploring the lines of research: Neuroproteomics; Identification and characterization of proteins from organisms of medical and economic importance in Brazilian biodiversity by proteomic techniques. In 2011 became an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Biology - Department of Cell Biology - University of Brasília - UNB. He is currently an associate Prof. at the Institute of Chemistry - Department of Biochemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ. He is a founding member and current vice-president of the advisory board of the Brazilian Society of Proteomics (BrProt).
