MAR Advisors is a specialized advisory firm for investors in infrastructure, renewable energy and seafood but Magnus has successful track record in management positions and advisory roles in these sectors. He was Managing Director and a non-executive board member at Kvika Bank where he worked on formulation and implementation of a new strategy for the bank following the 2015 merger of Straumur/MP Bank and subsequently became responsible for key account management and corporate finance. The new Kvika bank strategy more than doubled shareholders value in less than 3 years. Magnus served as President & Chief Executive Officer of €600 million seafood company, Icelandic Group, where he merged three UK based companies into Icelandic Seachill, transformed businesses in Asia, Belgium, and Spain that paved the way for a successful sale of Icelandic Group owned businesses that more than doubled shareholders value. He was Executive VP and a member of the executive committee at Landsvirkjun (www.landsvirkjun.com) from January 2010 - January 2013 where he negotiated new PPA’s with Rio Tinto Alcan, PCC, Verne and Century that transformed profitability of the government owned renewable energy company. Mr.Bjarnason was the CEO for the New York based corporate finance company Glacier Partners and Executive Vice President of Corporate and Investment Banking for the Americas and Asia at Glitnir Bank 2005-2010 where he led business development and investments of a US$ 1.2 billion portfolio, focusing on the seafood and geothermal industries. 1996-2005 Magnus served in the foreign service, where he's posts includes Minister Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Icelandic Embassy in China 2003-2005, Consul General in New York 2000-2003 and 1997-2003 Trade Commissioner based in New York City for USA & Canada.
