Head of Development & Operations at MedTech start-up company.NeoDynamics is focused on improving cancer management with minimally invasive technologies that improve precision, quality and safety in tissue sampling diagnostics and treatment.

As part of restructuring and refocusing our R&D in Sweden Q1-Q2 2011 I scoped and staffed the Emerging Connectivity Solutions group. The group has two main focus areas: 1. Developing Data Analytics capabilities gaining access to critical business knowledge for improving and growing our CRM business, 2. Developing alternative service models for improving penetration and development of Emerging Markets.Scope was set, group was formed and operationalized. Organization consisiting of ~20 development engineers divided on two teams has started to develop roadmaps for both areas and achieved a first relase on Data Analytics early 2012.SJM has decided to move R&D from Sweden and therefore we are now transferring everything to our US site in Los Angeles, CA.

Managing the local PMO (Program Management Office) with responsibility for oversight of all product and technology development projects on our Swedish site. Organization consisting of nine (9) Program Managers and an administrative assistant. Part of the R&D leadership team.During my tenure we merged two PMOs (Product & Technology) into one and successfully developed and implemented a new portfolio management system built around our specific focus areas involving all relevant functions. During this time we also significantly changed our development process from being quite technology driven to a more commercialization focused approach.

Successfully managing a variety of New Product Development programs including everything from the fuzzy front end (definition phase) to launching new products and validating the results by closing the loop with all relevant stakeholders.Program description (selection):- Managing the development of MedTech measurement system, PSA (Pacing System Analyzer)System development (mechanics, electronics & software), clinical testing, regulatory strategy, external manufacturing set-up etc. Involved ~100 people and several external partners. Budget ~$12M.- Managing the development of RF-system for communicating between active implantable device and in clinic or @home base stations.System development (mechanics, electronics & software), clinical testing, regulatory submissions and approvals, manufacturing ramp-up, launch. Mission involved ~50 people and several external partners and test houses. Budget ~$7M.- Managing the development of implantable pacemaker leads. Precision mechanics with focus on mistake proofing and manufacturability. Mission involved ~20 people and several partners and vendors. Budget ~$1-2M.

Role involved working as a Project Planner and Associate Program Manager for Product Development Programs. Also managing different types of Projects like SixSigma, IS/IT, Process Improvement etc. outside of Development to get a broader exposure to our operation.
