Manager of high transaction volume procurement group for all categories

Manages supply chain for professional services, and technical / complex materials. Responsible for achieving corporate savings, budget, business plan and diversity goals; analysis of complicated procurements including contract history, supplier relationship management including development, integration and supplier performance evaluation.

Management of the largest number of national commodities within the Purchasing group including printed/branded materials, office supplies, CADD supplies, pantry supplies, catering, promotional / marketing materials, safety equipment, subscriptions, horticultural, flowers & gifts, books & periodicals, industrial supplies. I have launched a national pantry program, an online catering model, and a re-org of the vendor pool within my commodity base. My responsibilities include vendor selection, contract negotiation, quality assurance, RFP/RFQ management, and performance reviews. I have taken on the role of administering system training for user groups and assembling the instructional materials used in these sessions. I am also the division lead for Green / Sustainability and CSR admin and audit in my division.

I designed & implemented a conversion from a self-run manufacturing center to a 3-tier turnkey production model (which I designed). I negotiated all pricing matrices, vendor contracts/T&C's & set pass fail levels for turn time, & QA/QC requirements. I designed the maufacturing product mgt system & had final approval on production awards, sourcing, & Buyer to Marketing assignments. I worked personally with Marketing, Sales, Creative Svcs, and Product Development to ensure strict adherence to budget concepts and authorizations. I performed vendor site inspections & executed scheduled & random inspections for all vendor sites. I participated in sales & coporate meetings to lend the Ops perspective when necessary. I was successful in bringing overall production spends down 35-60% in component & production categories both domestically and some internationally. I negotiated extended payments terms across the board based upon real payment habits and not ideals.

Reporting to and supporting 4 sales executives, I was responsible for order management and processing for several distribution level accounts and 3 major accounts. During my tenure I improved my largest account's in-store rating from 65% to 98% in 3 months and EDI rejections down to less than 1%. After only 5 months on the job, I was promoted to Group Leader, overseeing half of the Sales Coordinator pool.
