I am a passionate global health professional committed to advancing and upholding gender equality and women’s rights and have experience working in Canada and on the field in Asia. My work in Asia has involved monitoring and evaluation, research, policy review and program coordination for capacity building and CSE implementation projects focusing on improving and promoting adolescent and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the global south. I have also coordinated Mental Health Rapid Response for COVID-19, creating a peer support network in Toronto, Ontario aimed at building community resilience and increasing access to quality mental health support. I have gained a strong analytical understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment through health programming.My passion for global health has led me across the world, from working in Honduras, Spain, Pakistan, Thailand, and Canada to the UN, advocating for gender equality, women’s rights and the SDGs. I have presented my work in SRHR at the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) in Bangkok, Thailand, where I participated as a youth advocate to highlight SRHR issues faced by youth in the Asia-Pacific region. I went on to address national delegations at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) at the UN, advocating for gender equality. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Global Health from the Barcelona Institute for Global Health at the University of Barcelona. I am completely fluent in English with varying levels of fluency in Urdu, French, Spanish and Korean.
